- English I & II
- Algebra I & II

- U.S. History
These exams are part of the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) and count toward the student’s final course grade.
ACT or SAT Requirement
All 11th-grade students in Tennessee public schools must take the ACT or SAT as part of the state’s graduation requirements.
- At Jellico High School, the ACT is the test administered during the school day at no cost to students.
- The ACT is offered twice per year on campus:
- Spring semester of junior year
- Fall semester of senior year
- Students may choose which test to take, though most schools default to the ACT.
- Students may also take the ACT on a national test date and may take it as many times as they wish to improve their score.

PreACT for 10th Graders
All 10th-grade students take the PreACT, a preparatory assessment that:
- Mirrors the format and content of the ACT
- Helps students identify academic strengths and areas for improvement
- Is used for dual enrollment placement and college readiness planning
ASVAB Testing at JHS
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a career exploration tool administered to Jellico High School juniors each year. While commonly associated with military enlistment, the ASVAB is also a valuable resource for students exploring civilian career paths.
- Discover your strengths and interests
- Explore career options in both military and civilian fields
- Receive personalized career planning tools through the ASVAB Career Exploration Program
The test is free, and results are shared with students, counselors, and—only with permission—military recruiters.
